Adrian Saxe is an American artist known for his intricate and colorful ceramic sculptures. He was born in Glendale, California in 1943 and studied at the California State University, Northridge and the Otis Art Institute. Saxe's work is influenced by historical ceramics and cultural traditions, as well as contemporary art, and often incorporates humor and satire.
He has exhibited his work in numerous galleries and museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Saxe has received many awards and honors for his work, including a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship and a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship.
